How much does a digital invitation cost, and what does the price include

The most common question before a first digital invitation is “how much will it cost”. The answer is simpler than with paper: one price for the whole event, not per copy.

How the price is calculated

With paper invitations you pay per copy, plus printing and delivery. With digital ones you usually pay once for the event, and the price depends on the number of invitations you will send.

It is important to know what an “invitation” is. In InviteCards one invitation is one household: a family of four gets one link, and that is one invitation, not four.

What the price includes

Every plan should contain everything you need for the event, not just the card:

  • all designs and colour schemes;
  • “Yes, we’ll be there” and “Sadly, no” replies with a personal link for every guest;
  • the invitation in each guest’s own language;
  • menu choice and allergies;
  • seating plan and room layout;
  • the running order of the day;
  • the location with a map and directions;
  • a guest book;
  • a checklist and tasks for the organising.

If the site you are looking at charges separately for replies or for languages, the bill quickly becomes a different one.

What you shouldn’t pay for

  • Testing. You should be able to design, preview and send the invitation to yourself for free. You pay only when you activate it for your guests.
  • Changes. Changing the time, the venue or the text after sending shouldn’t cost anything.
  • Extra guests within the plan. If you took a plan for 90 invitations and send 70, you don’t pay more.

Which plan you need

The number of invitations, not the number of guests, determines the plan.

  • A small celebration (birthday, christening, party): up to 30 invitations. That is 30 households, usually 60–90 people.
  • A wedding or a large celebration: up to 90 invitations, around 150–250 guests.
  • Large events (prom, company party): up to 250 invitations.

Count the households on your list, not the people, and you will see which plan is yours.

Why prices differ by country

Serious services show the price according to the country the site is opened from. The same price in euros weighs differently in Germany and in Bulgaria. That is why on the pricing page you see your price, not a European average.

Compared with paper invitations

For a wedding with 100 invitations, good-quality paper invitations with envelopes and delivery come to several hundred euros, not counting the time. The digital invitation for the same event is one fixed amount and comes with the replies, the menu and the seating.

The current InviteCards prices are on the “Pricing” page, in euros, for your country. You design and test for free and pay when you activate.

Before you choose, do two things: count the households and check what is included. The rest is a matter of design.
